The most important thing is that you always show respect for the rights of other people when they do something. Perhaps you guess all: a ssertieve people know how they respectfully to express their feelings and emotions.  Many people have problems with this.

In today’s article, we’re going to talk about the 5 most important traits assertive people have in common. Do you recognize any or all of these traits — or maybe all of them?

1. Assertive people have self-confidence

Some people lose confidence as they get older. However, this self-confidence can always be regained. However, this takes a lot of effort.

If you are an assertive person, then you have already won this battle. This is because  you already know and recognize yourself very well. That’s why you don’t have to be afraid to show your true self.

Insecure people always use a shield to protect themselves. This causes them to always defend themselves and miss out on various opportunities in life. Assertive people know that they need to have self-confidence to get the most out of their lives.

2. They respect the opinions of others

Assertive people know how to respect other people’s opinions, even if they disagree with them. They know that the different points of view help people to grow. This should always be respected.

This trait allows assertive people to validate people with different emotions. In other words:

  • Assertive people can accept different opinions and emotions.
  • They are willing to learn from this in different circumstances.

It’s true that everyone has a bad day from time to time. Therefore, acceptance and understanding are very important to improve personal relationships.

3. Assertive people listen actively

When we use the verb “listen,” you might think we’re talking about something simple that everyone knows how to do. However, the truth is that few people know how to really listen, especially active listening.

How do you actively listen?

  • You have to do more than just pay attention to the words that come out of the other person’s mouth!
  • Actually, you should also try to find out how the person is feeling and what emotions are being expressed.
  • This also includes attention to body language and pitch.

When you do this, you can calmly avoid any type of conflict that may arise between you and another person.

Listening will rid you of the fear and stress  you may experience when you find yourself in a conflict. In addition, this trait will also give you the ability to control your own emotions in an effective way.

4. They choose their friends

This may seem like an arbitrary point, but many of us don’t consciously choose who to be friends with. In contrast, we let other people choose whether they want us as friends.

Assertive people know that this is not the right way to make friends. That is why they consciously choose the people they want to have next to them.

This is also why assertive people are  good at dealing with ‘toxic’ people  who are trying to fill their lives with negative emotions. They know how to deal with this and how to escape the negativity of such people.

In brief:

  • Assertive people choose their friends consciously.
  • They don’t settle for those who choose them as friends if they don’t like these people themselves.

5. They accept themselves unconditionally

One of the best qualities assertive people have is that  they don’t care what others think of them. This allows them to accept themselves as they are, with all their flaws and virtues. This is how their self-confidence grows!

In addition, accepting ourselves unconditionally also gives us the opportunity to know what our limits are, but this does not mean that we impose limits on ourselves. As a result, assertive people know how to fight to achieve their dreams.

Do you have some of these qualities? As you may have noticed, many of these traits are based on overcoming your fears. That will make you crawl out from under your shield and learn to believe in yourself.

Our comfort zone, our insecurities and other similar things can hinder us. Assertive people, however, are not limited by this.

Do you think this type of people was born with this confidence? Do you think they always believe in themselves? New; they were just once in your position. They became assertive by putting a lot of effort into adopting a certain attitude. In this way they have become a better person.
