We are all confronted with an obsessive thought from time to time. That thought that keeps spinning in your head is something that everyone has experienced at some point. You can’t stop worrying about a breakup, something you said, or what happened to you at work today…

These obsessive thoughts have a lot to do with the fact that we don’t move on after something is already over. And it doesn’t matter if it’s still important or not.

It’s hard to let go of those obsessive thoughts. But it is not impossible.

Analyzing the same situation over and over again won’t get you anywhere. If you do this, you are like the snake biting its own tail.

That’s because your feelings play an important role. They trap you with those obsessive thoughts. This has no other purpose than to make you suffer.

Asking for help is not weird or wrong. When something is stopping you from working, getting out of bed, being productive, or enjoying life, you need to ask for help.

Your mind is not so easy to control. In fact, the more you try to control the thoughts that arise, the less manageable they can become.

It is important that you understand what your mind is trying to tell you and the purpose and usefulness of these thoughts. But usually such obsessive thoughts have only one goal: to make you suffer even more.
