True love: 75-year-old married couple dies in the same bed

For many, ‘ true love ‘ is something that only exists in fairy tales or books. After all, the majority of relationships don’t last and many people often have to meet several people in order to find the one they will share their life with.

While this is true in most cases, there are also some incredible stories that prove that nothing is impossible; two people can be in love for a lifetime, even until death.

This is the case with a married couple who lived in California, United States. The two met when they were eight years old and have been inseparable ever since. After 75 years of marriage, it looked like death would eventually part them.

Even death couldn’t separate them

Jeannette and Alexander Toczko, an elderly couple from San Diego, California, had been married for 75 years. Miraculously, they died within hours of each other. In each other’s arms, they loved each other all the way to the end.

Alexander Toczko and his wife Jeannette, both originally from Connecticut, met when they were just eight years old. When they came of age in 1940, they married each other.

Their hearts beat as one

According to their daughter, “They never liked being separated from each other. It was as if their hearts were beating as one.”

Alexander, 95, loved to play golf until his health deteriorated after a fall several weeks before his death. Although experts examined him, his health did not improve and he continued to deteriorate as time went on.

True love

When Jeannette, 96 years old, became aware that her husband’s health was deteriorating, she too began to experience health problems that caused her to become bedridden, just like her husband. And despite her lack of strength, this woman wanted her bed to be placed next to her husband’s so that she could take care of him until the end.

Older Couple

The couple was approaching a difficult time. He couldn’t get out of bed and she was depressed, but both anxiously awaited June 29, the day they would celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary.

It’s a shame, but they never made it to this date.

In each other’s arms

Alexander died on the night of June 17 and Jeannette died the next morning. Despite this, the couple was able to fulfill their last wish: he wanted to take his last breath as he lay in her arms and she wanted to be with him again soon after he died.

Aimee Toczko-Cushman, who was with her parents along with her four brothers, also revealed that she was responsible for bringing the bad news to her mother.

Together forever

The children then left the room and gave their mother a moment alone with the man she loved so much all her life. To everyone’s surprise, it turned out that less than 24 hours later Jeannette had also died; they found the two lifeless bodies embracing.

The moment was captured in a photo that has gone viral and moved millions by showing that love lasts until the end.

Jeannette and Alexander Toczko were buried together at the Miramar National Cemetary in San Diego, California.
