The Worst Storm That Forms In Our Minds

The worst storm is not what actually happens, but what we create in our minds. It’s not about the situation, it’s about how you interpret it.

The worst storm and worst scenario can often plague our minds. We  dramatize and amplify our emotions.

Remember that your relationship ended. At that time you were going through a restless period. You thought your whole world was collapsing. How do you see this situation now, a few years later? You realize it wasn’t as bad as you thought and you overdid it.

This is because the worst storm is not about what really happens, but about how we create things in our minds.

The worst storm we’re trying to escape

Why is it so easy to get into this vicious circle? Why do we always amplify feelings and make ourselves suffer so much?

The answer is simple. We tend to torture ourselves and see this out of proportion. In addition, we focus on the negative that happens to us. What is happening now and what has happened? This is how our  thought spiral becomes disproportionate and the most negative thoughts take over.

Ultimately, we can only blame our emotions, but this is only because we don’t know how to control them.

Instead of taking a little break to let our thoughts sink in,  we let ourselves be guided by what we feel.

Let’s take a look at the example we gave at the beginning.

Again, imagine your relationship ending. In this situation, you may be torturing yourself thinking why the relationship ended. You feel so much and so intensely right now that you are very afraid of having to live without your partner. You are terrified of going through your life without your partner by your side.

What you need to know is  that sooner or later all these thoughts will disappear and everything you thought will be a distant memory.

See reality as it is

Our feelings and emotions cause us not to see reality as it is. In other words,  we intoxicate our thoughts, fears, doubts, and ideas.

When time passes, we get more space. This lets us see things from a different perspective. At this point, we are no longer stressed or sad. Irritations and anger no longer take over us and we can now see everything clearly.

This is what we needed at the time. Despite that, we have been guided by the emotions.

Life doesn’t stop. We believe it does when negativity shows up and we cling to it.

It is normal to tire yourself. That’s what bad emotions do. Not accepting and letting go of your emotions poisons you.

Control your thoughts and emotions

Worrying about what’s going on in your mind is very normal. However,  controlling your thoughts and knowing how to observe them is very helpful. This will help you become more assertive and find solutions in complete chaos.

Let’s do a visualization exercise.

Think of the worst storm, such as a very cluttered room. If you don’t clean these up, what do you do? You move things from one side to the other. Then you actually create a bigger chaos in this room.

What is the solution? You have to start organizing everything, little by little. Give everything a place. It’s hard work, but you find that some things actually take the place of important things. What if you throw these things away?

This easy and practical visualization exercise will help you place everything that is haunting your mind. It’s hard, but with practice you’ll see the benefits. Clear your mind, open your eyes and see reality as it is  without adding anything to it. Do not create a storm with your own thoughts.
