Learning to understand highly sensitive people

Highly sensitive people can cause misunderstandings. They are often seen as exaggerations. They react to everyday situations with automatic and unwanted striking reactions.

This is normal for them and you have to remember that.

Judging them before you know what’s going on creates misunderstandings. Most people don’t know about the discomfort they feel that causes these reactions.

Today we want to give you a guide to understanding some common reactions of highly sensitive people.

1. Highly sensitive people can’t stand pressure

For highly sensitive people , it can be overwhelming to have to do multiple tasks. They prefer to focus on one task and get the best out of themselves to accomplish this task.

They are often very creative people.

They work better alone and in a quiet environment. If not, they become stressed and unable to be effective and productive.

In a noisy environment or when someone pushes to answer various questions, they start to feel blocked. When this happens, highly sensitive people become irritated and difficult to deal with.

2. Highly sensitive people avoid chaotic environments

Chaos is always well received in our society. It seems that we are always looking for sounds, loud music and strong stimuli to avoid silence. Highly sensitive people, however, avoid this.

By being overstimulated by too many things at the same time, they keep spinning. Smells, sounds, interruptions… all these things take away the balance they had up to that point.

Sometimes it gets to a point where they even get irritated by the sound of chewing food. The reaction they give the moment they experience all these little things is interesting.

They often irritate the people around them who don’t understand that they make the highly sensitive person feel uncomfortable.

3. They take things personally

A highly sensitive person takes the experiences he or she has personally. This is because they are empathetic.

They react strongly to social injustices. They also react strongly to someone who takes advantage of another.

This is also because they focus on details. They are experts at analyzing non-verbal communication,  which says more than words do.

That is why they can always indicate whether you can be trusted or whether you have something to hide. They don’t like this. It also disturbs others.

This is because people normally don’t focus on these microexpressions and analyze these microexpressions. Some people believe it is simply their imagination.

Others try to tell them “don’t take it personally.” But this doesn’t help.

4. They need time to themselves like a fish needs water

This can be a big surprise to the outside world. After all, most people try to avoid being alone. They are afraid of feeling cut off from everything and everyone.

But people who are highly sensitive seek out solitude. They seek moments of peace and calm, so that the outside world does not affect them for a while.

It’s normal for them to decline invitations, turn off their phones for a day, or don’t feel like answering messages. Unfortunately, this can upset their friends. Sometimes this situation even causes problems in their relationship with their partner.

This doesn’t mean they don’t want to spend time with their friends. It just means that they need more time for themselves than others.

5. When they are in pain, highly sensitive people are not themselves

Highly sensitive people aren’t just sensitive to what’s going on in their head. They are also more sensitive to what happens to their bodies. This is because they are closely connected to their bodies.

Headaches or a sore stomach, feeling hungry or any discomfort for that matter can be unbearable. This causes constant changes in their behavior, which disturb the people around them.

Sometimes it is difficult to deal with highly sensitive people. After all, it is very difficult to empathize with them. But there are a few things you can do to make it easier for both parties.

Don’t judge, but ask questions and open your mind to understand how they see the world.
